About Us
Craftybara Workshop was created by husband-wife duo, Chris and Angela. We are a small creative business based in Beaumont, Alberta. Chris handles all the woodworking while Angela focuses on design and marketing.
We love capybaras because this was the animal obsession that got us over a series of losses back in 2022. Their calm demeanour, friendly nature, and bada** croc-dominance were just what we needed to heal.
Now, we’re drawing on the capybara for creative inspiration. Although we can’t promise we’ll stick with the capybara theme in our products forever, we’re having so much fun right now that it’s leading to some really cute designs!
We design and craft our products in Canada
Chris and Angela often discuss ideas over our morning coffee. Angela will begin with sketches before translating her drawings to a digital format that Chris can then take to his laser cutter. We go from our kitchen table straight to the garage workshop.
Handcrafted in small batches, no two items are the same
Due to the natural characteristics of wood, and the hand-assembled/hand-finished nature of our products, no two items will be the same. Each item will be as unique and varied as the homes they’ll go to.
We design with cute and functional in mind
When your mascot is a capybara, it’s not that difficult to design cute products. Alongside the cute, we aim to design functional home goods that can be used in your day-to-day.
